REGISTRATION IS OPEN for the 8th annual event, and all registration forms can be found here.
Many Paddlers are already fundraising for what promises to be a great year, and it will introduce our new official event location in the Town of Tecumseh at Waterfront Park on Riverside Drive at the foot of Manning Road.
You can get on board now: When your registration fee of $650.00 is paid it will guarantee you your site and pledge envelopes. Cheques are to be payable to Dragon Boats for the Cure.
We are working very hard on our new Dragon View Gardens that will be announced very soon. This beautiful garden is to honour everyone that has been affected by cancer. We will also be unveiling our 25 foot, 19,000 pound granite Dragon statue!
All of the Dragon Boat teams will be able to participate in supporting this project by purchasing a plaque in recognition of your team’s name that will last a lifetime. We are offering this to our Dragon Boat teams first…details are available from Gerry or Beth.
This is going to be a great Dragon Boat year for all of us! We will all have lots of fun while raising money for the ones we love.
Please contact Beth or Gerry for more information today!
Paddles up!

what it takes to make a dragon boat team
A dragon boat team consists of:
20 paddlers
1 drummer
1 steersperson.
Teams provide power and rhythm to achieve maximum acceleration and speed over a specific distance. A perfectly synchronized team is not only visually spectacular, but always defeats a stronger, less synchronized team.
Each team that participates in the Community Races on Sunday July 11, 2010 must have a minimum of 8 female paddlers in the boat. You may also have 6 alternates on the team to assist with your three races throughout the day.
It is hoped that each paddler raises a minimum of $225.00...don't let your teammates down. Remember, it is all about the cure!
